Villa Ibarra reviews
54We have booked the deluxe suite for 3 adults with Agoda. First thing: it is not a suite but just a room. Despite the confirmation for 3 adults there were only 2 beds, 2 breakfasts, 2 towels etc. After checking with front desk, there was nothing they could do except providing an extra mattress for another P1200 pushing the total price for one night to P7900/per night. Unacceptable of course! The room was up to standard, but very noisy especially the foot steps from above. For a hotel with such a price level the food in the restaurant is mediocre at best, Kare Kare almost without meat, orange juice just being Tang, fried eggs in the morning a complete fail. Overall: a complete disappointment. We will definitely not be staying there again.
I booked a stay here a week ago via Agoda at a very fair price. I wanted a room with a bath tub so we got the one they use as bridal suite. The room is separate from the hotel's main building. It's like a shack constructed by the cliff side.which I find very cool! It was a lush green right outside our window. We have the full view of Taal Volcano (and the steam coming out from it's mouth, haha).
What I like about this hotel is that their facilities are still well-maintained even if they don't have a lot of guests. I think we were only the customers as nobody else showed up for the breakfast the following morning.
Speaking of breakfast, it was very nice. I think we got the Filipino Hefty Breakfast which has A LOT on it. We're super full by the end of our meal. It was fine though as we biked to Mahogany Market after that. We burned calories by then.
Overall, we liked our stay in Villa Ibarra. I've been wanting to book a room here long before since I saw the place. We attended a wedding reception in this same hotel a decade ago.now we've already been here!
The place and location is great, and the food is delicious. Only downside is limited parking space.
Unknown to most, also serves good food like most of the other "not cheap" establishments.
Its our 1st time at Villa Ibarra and we had a great time for family lunch on Father's Day. It overlooking Taal.
The place is nice and relaxing, good view of Taal Volcano, good and affordable food, nice and friendly staff.
Nice and relaxing restaurant, you can view the Taal Volcano and its surrounding, very refreshing place, the food is great and affordable.
Planned to have lunch at park ridge but unfortunately the place was full so we decided to walk and found villa ibarra. There was an ongoing prenup shoot but they're still accepting diners. We ordered large crispy pata and bulalo. Serving time took around 30min so we expected the food to be hot, but were not. Food was good, just not what we were expecting for its price. Since there's only 2 of us, we requested the left overs be packed. Was handed to us in plastic bag (expected there was a container since we agreed to pay additional charge but there's none). Service can be improved as well, not sure if it was just because we were the only diners that time that we did not feel the quality of service we were expecting from such a nice place.
If you are just looking for a room to stay for a good night sleep, then this is for you. Dont expect for a pool or a gym or a spacious hotel grounds. The walls are thin esp on the level floor room where the resto and piano area are located, so you can hear the noise, children screaming, footsteps etc.
Definitely pricey. But was worth it. The food was served not as fancy as it price but was really good and delicious. Place is perfect for venues. Crews and staffs were very nice. It was even their manager who took our family photo. The place looks both classic and modern. Their suite that has a reall’ nice overlooking view was superb tho quite small. Overall, was definitely great experience but will cost you big.
Ukoy was good. Crispy Pata was small and the kare kare contained very little meat, more tripe.
Staff were friendly but not attentive. We had to knock on the kitchen door twice to find the wait staff.
It was just OK.
The Al Fresco area was superb. Had the chance to see a family of free-roaming Philippine Macaques up close in the trees. Food was OK but nothing fancy.
I love all the foods they served. Tasty and delicious. Highly recommended.
Masyado lang malamig, mabilis lumamig ang bulalo. Lol
Night rides/bulalo rides, with my co-worker, the objective is to see the trail of lights in crosswind tagaytay, but apparently it was temporarily close. Decided to go to Bulalo Point, but it was already close, as per staff most of the resto in tagaytayn is till 8pm only. So we decided to fin resto, fortunately we found villa ibarra were they offered bulalo
It's okay. We got the attic room because there was a balcony overlooking the taal. But the door to the balcony was shut from the outside, or at least was so hard to push and it wont budge. The noise from adjacent rooms, even from those on the lobby, can be heard from the room. Lacks sound proofing I guess. Using the spiral staircase was a bit exciting, but too taxing when you're carrying stuff up to or down from the room.
Best manager ever, Eugene! Nothing can beat his hospitality. Id say we'll be back for more nights because of him.
I didn't stay at the hotel but has lunch there. I food I ordered, Beef Caldereta and Pinakbet were very good. Only few places can make them as good. Service was fast and people were efficient. Interior design though need better taste.
The best ang place! Kita kita ang Taal Lake. The view is perfect while drinking. Don't forget to bring your jacket. The only thing that I don't like about the place is the spiral staircase going to the attic. Baka di ka na makababa pag lasing ka na But overall, it's perfect for any events.
I will not go back here unless I will get married again. This is only good for events. But not good as a hotel. The staffs are simply exhausted.
The place has a good set of complimentary breakfast options and you have breakfast with a view of Taal Lake and Volcano. The rooms are quite roomy and well maintained. The place also has balconies for beautiful views of Taal region.
