HEAT at Edsa Shangri-La, Manila reviews
55Nothing special.just over priced to what they have.not worth it at all.one of the most disappointing experiences we ever had when it comes to food.
Firstly the positives. The sushi, sashimi, tempura shrimp and siomai are excellent, I joked with my partner that I might just stick to the appetisers unfortunately that's what I should have done because it's all down hill from there. The prime rib was well seasoned but cooked terribly, asked for medium and given rare and bloody in the middle and the cut was 30% uncooked fat. The lechon is dry and just tastes of lemongrass. The Indian section is an insult to India. The only curry available was rendang which is Indonesian haha, it's also located on the opposite side. Everything else were starters or sides. The samosa was stone cold, the "chicken tikka" was just bbq chicken with red food colouring, I think they should of used some spices in the food instead of having mounds of them as decoration. We dined on a Saturday which is apparently seafood night but they must have run out by 6.30pm or it's hidden in the back because it's the same 3 options they have the rest of the week. The crab looked good but was just dry and tasted of sea water. The deserts are the same as every other standard buffet, looks good but tastes of nothing, to the point if you did a blind taste test on everything you'd think it was the same desert, except the chocolate which is just dry and stale. The ice cream is just the standard cheap one just decorated to look home made. The only drinks included is water, black coffee or hot tea. I ended up having a beer due to no spirits available and didn't fancy anything on the cocktail menu. At over 300 pesos I was expecting draft but no just a room temperature bottle of pilsen. My partner ordered a daiquiri which tasted horrific, if you're going to charge 600 pesos at least make it drinkable and use quality ingredients. Ultimately if I'm going to spend 8,718.32 pesos on a meal for 2 I have some expectations. The final insult came a few hours later and the following day when I stank out the apartment with what rushed out of my behind. I travelled to manila just for this after seeing a recent video on YouTube. This is the last time I watch a food vlogger on YouTube. Clearly a paid promotion. I wish I'd gone to spiral instead
Great food selections, came in a lil late when they were closing, food wasn't as fresh tasting, but totally understandable
The spread was impressive especially their seafood section. Everything was delicious even the salad section was exceptional. The wait staff were also attentive. Their Italian section was also delightful, the pasta was al dente. It's definitely worth it.
The buffet breakfast is available fridays and weekends and the food is really good considering there is a pandemic and it is expected there will be cost cutting. The coffee is great quality, i love the mango juice, the bacon is crisp and perfect. I also highly recommend the beef tapa and also the pork tapa. The service / waiters and chefs are really nice and accommodating.
For our annual medical checkup, my wife and I have always checked "Breakfast at Shang" as our treat of choice. So for the past five years, we've seen how the restaurant has consistently provided five star service-from attending with care, politely offering reads for the day, to guiding us through the buffet that is offered a generous amount selections.
However, I think I've stuck with one kind of plate-bacon, eggs, and fruity pancakes. Oh my, their bacon is oddly good-tasty and brought to crisp as instructed. You think that's modest? Lay no judgment as I gobble about five plates of that.
Nice to be here and delighted with their service, safety protocols are in place (worry no more), friendly staff. Their foods are so yummy! Still fresh and tasty just like pre-covid days. Keep it up! Looking forward to our next visit!
Nakapunta kame on a weekday and we ate lunch na buffet.nagstart ang buffet ng 12pm sharp.pagdating mo kunin nila temparature mo then wil give you alcohol to sanitize your hands
tapos pag 12 na, pila kayo with social distancing then me taga bigay ng plato, tapos mandatory to sanitize your hands uli
then unlike before na ikaw ang sumasandok, this time iba na sasandok sa iyo
ituturo mo lang yunh like mo
i had the ff

roast beef- super lambot super juicy.i had mine in medium well pero napakalambot talaga
then shrimp with butter sauce.dyan palang sulit na yunh buffet.othwr food that i got

cheeses,
pork belly roast
inihaw na liempo
chicken with pita - sarap din nito
ceasar salad
pasta

etc etc
dessert.ko is ice cream.di ako kumuha ng halo halo
then cake
Food is great, entrance staff are courteous and helpful when i inquired about the guests required age brackets, the assigned tables are readily available upon entry, everyone tried their best to be of assistance.
Just ate here today. Did not like it. Shrimp and crabs were very bland. Actually most of the dishes were bland. There were a lot of choices but if you are looking gastronomical quality and satisfaction you are better off in other hotel buffets. Staff were really stiff they were professional but you can sense they are not that into what they are doing. Ambience-wise place was too dark not sure if this is intentional due to the "new normal". High notes were the ube ice creame, steak pasta, indian items nothing else.
Additinal down side. Buffet does not include drinks they do offer free coffee and tea but we had to shell out additional 280php for cold juice (non-refillable).
Then parking was 450php even after parking validation! Wow! When we ate at Circles, Shang Makati parking was free!
Had high hopes for this buffet but oh well.
For the price, with this pandemic, not worth it.
I was expecting more like the lobster, sadly, there was none: , (only shrimp and crabs
and no drinks were being served aside from water and coffee.understaff, 1 people per station and there was a long line, but I do recommed the US Prime Rib
friendly peeps, practice social distancing in the buffet:)
I'd probably go back and stay at the hotel but not during pandemic.
Konti lang yung mga tao and konti lang din yung mga food choices. Hindi din ganun ka bonggacious ang lasa ng mga food. Mababait yung mga employees and staff nila. Attentive and respectful. The are the gems of HEAT!
Ambience is classy and the food was delicious! Especially loved their prime rib and pasta! Service is great as well, staff is very helpful. Will definitely come back!
If you are a group of five, you'll be seating so far apart that you can't enjoy each other's company. Doesn't matter if you're from the same household.
The waitstaff and cooks are courteous and awesome.
Food choices are a bit underwhelming but what was served was awesome. Drinks that come with the buffet price are water, tea, and coffee.
I like you Heat, but I have to rank you a few steps down from Cafe Ilang-ilang.
Not worth the price and food - not that good. Staff aren't friendly either. Food choices are limited.
Was not a fan of their breakfast buffet but upon trying it today the taste was improved and it is great now!
For the price, it was quite disappointing. I can only recommend the Roast Beef, the Chicken Inasal and the pineapple. But then again there is a pandemic.
One of the best buffets in PH, the Lobster Buffet is so good that you'll get to enjoy all types of Lobster Dishes and easily get your money's worth. Definitely a must try experience.
The roast is delicious, however some options are a hit or miss. Also the choices are not so much currently. Still enjoyed it
I considered Heat as one of the premier buffet hotel restaurants until I went there to celebrate my friend 's birthday a week ago. They didn't have salmon sushi in stock, limited stock of shrimp even the dimsum area the shrimp hakaw ran out as well. Food selection I felt wasn't that fresh anymore. Maybe it's because it was lunch time and they serve the fresh ones during dinner?
