I was glad to learn LTO put up shop in UPTC and decided to renew my license before the 2 year grace period for expired license lapsed as this would've entailed applying again from scratch at the main office in East Ave.upon arriving I was taken aback if the office was open and operating.at first glance it looked like the place was under renovation and determined it was indeed open since personnel were present behind the counters.lo and behold, there was only 1 client in queue!
the information guy assisted me and ushered me to the evaluator who in turn initially expressed doubt if my license could be renewed.but told me to give it a try nevertheless.

I was then directed to go next door for my medical exam.
Digital picture was taken.
Blood pressure, check.
Color blind test, check.
Weight and Height measurements, check.
Vision measurement, check.
600 Pesos, CHECK na CHECK!
Receipt and Results were handed over and was told to return to the LTO.evaluator then went over all documents.mind you as I had my address changed and correction of spelling with my middle name.so proof of billing for my new address and a PSA issued Birth Certificate to attest my correct name spelling. LTO will need to secure a copy of the originals.then i was directed to the Cashier to rob me.errr for payment rather.i handed over a total of 835 pesos in EXACT change as LTO still ONLY transacts in cold CASH.
585 - License Fee Renewal
150 - Penalty for 1 Day to 2 Years expired
100 - Revision of Records

after which i was ushered to the next window for BIOmetrics.
Only my 2 index fingers were scanned apparently as verification that i was who i was as per their records.then the clerk showed me my records on the computer screen and asked if all data (previously acquired) were still pertinent then asked if i wished to maintain my old photo or update it.i decided to change my mug shot and voila!
he handed me my "documents"

Yes, documents.my License was ONLY printed on paper as our most esteemed and venerable department leaders are still stuck in an already years long jam of supply shortages

hoping I would be able to see my plastic card license before transitioning onto the next dimension.

Overall, the experience of renewing my driver's license was indeed hands down one of the best dealing with a government office!

Kudos to the satellite renewal office at UP Town Center!

The staff was really nice and accommodating. I went at 12nn on a Tuesday and there were only two other people there. I finished renewing my license within 20 minutes. The staff in the medical clinic were all really nice too.

Very fast and efficient service. Went at 12: 30pm on a Monday. No line and helpful staff. Whole process was less than 30minutes, including getting the medical certificate next door.

They Just opened May 6,2022 so few people pa. It's clean, air-conditioned, no fixers as it should be. Hardly anybody at 9AM. But by 10AM, it was empty. I went June 2022.

Took me only 1 hour to renew my license. Only because 1) I registered online pa 2) look the online exam. You can do that before going and maybe finish off in 20 minutes or less.

Hopefully, they will maintain their efficiency.
