In January 16,2019, a historic milestone for Filipino Cinema happened at the conference hall of MTCRB as NCCA Sub-Commissioner for Cinema led by Chair Teddy Co and MTCRB Chair Maria Rachel Arenas inked a Memorandum of Understanding to encourage and raise the standards of filmmaking in the country. Said MOU helps Filipino filmmakers by lowering the required regulatory fees and facilitate the dissemination of their films.

The MOU between NCCA and MTRCB is a significant achievement by cinema committee as it also a heartwarming gift to the Filipino film community especially that the country celebrates 100 years of Philippine Cinema.

I am 67 years old and it never entered my consciousness that it is easy to kill and cement corpses in septic vaults, or under kitchen sinks. Or throw raped victims on abandoned lots. WHY? Because I was never exposed to such information, so it did not form part of my consciousness.
These are the gory details being shown to prime time viewers on Saturday afternoon by these TV programs. Majority of our population will still be good citizens and informed individuals without being exposed to such criminal and violent details. The danger is showing these details to innocent individuals and young people is that they will absorb the violence without even realizing it. NAPASOK NA ANG IMAGES AND IDEAS INTO THEIR CONSCIOUSNESS. One day, when they are put in a compromising situation, they might use such info to harm others. Kung wala kang violent info in your consciousness, then wala kang gagamitin
As guardians of our citizens, I suggest that we stop giving violent and unnecessary info and images to our people.
