Amazing property. Just 1 negative is that they share their Spa with the attached property of Fairmont and I found Fairmont's swimming pool to be a better one although raffles is more premium. The nearby area is awesome!

I stayed Raffles Makati for the anniversaries. We are fascinated by the best quality of their services I could imagine. The service starts right after (or even before) the arrival - wonderful receptionists (for instance Mallillin for language support) and dedicated Butlers like Ron. Thank you Andrea, Eunice, Sherlyn for your smiles and creating a cozy ambiance at the Writers Bar when we enjoyed the afternoon tea and evening cocktail!

I’d like to thank everyone at Long Bar for accommodating us. The members of staff were all pleasant and doing a fantastic job. Also, I’d love to say thanks to Nicky for going an extra effort in giving us our anniversary cake; that was very sweet. My sweetheart and I really did enjoy our cocktails and the food was awesome too! Thanks Long Bar.

Living in Makati, I’ve always appreciated Raffles as a guest in the bars and restaurants but I’ve never stayed as a guest in one of their suites or residences until these past 3 weeks. There is a reason why I had to stay here but that is not what this review will be about. I would like to commend the fantastic team who were kind and gracious during my stay. Beginning with Carl Agustines, who checked me in 3 weeks ago late at night and was very nice even during his late hour shift. He continued to always be kind and helpful anytime I saw him during my stay. Another member of the front desk is Angelica Barbon, stellar and first class with her way of assisting me whenever I needed to ask for anything, she was always gracious and accommodating. There are also members of the management team who I encountered and made my stay memorable. From Mireio, Ms Cheska Parocha, who assisted me when I visited for my breakfast and anytime she saw me, also having a great sense of humor which I appreciated and enjoyed. From the Writers bar, Ms Nicky Alivio, who was always very helpful from the first time I met her and made sure that I was appeased with a slightly not so memorable time I had in Long Bar a few weeks ago and she was able to turn that around with the help and kindness of the Long Bar manager, Ms Lilibeth Mallari, when she found out of my experience, she genuinely apologized and wanted to make amends. Special mention to Mr Julio Lapuz, head butler par excellence! He took me on an art tour of some of the great pieces they have here in Raffles. He also helped in making sure that a bad experience I mentioned to him that I had was reversed for the better and accommodated. Many thanks to them and also to some other wonderful staff from the helpful men in the front of the Raffles residences lobby as well as the team in the hotel lobby to the room service staff, housekeeping and restaurant/bars. They made my 3 week stay truly memorable.

Only reviewing The Long bar (as a tourist) : great place to socialise, drink and grab a bite with friends. Make sure you go between 5-7pm for their unlimited drinks Sundowner special. Check out the Filipino style fans on the ceiling. A real expat haunt, you'll love it.

Affles Makati is a luxurious oasis in the heart of the bustling city. From the moment you step foot in the lobby, you're transported into a world of opulence and comfort. The staff greets you with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, making you feel like a VIP from the get-go.

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with plush beds and top-notch amenities that will make you want to stay in all day. But the real gem of this hotel is the rooftop bar, where you can sip cocktails and take in stunning views of the city skyline.

If you're looking for a culinary adventure, Raffles Makati has you covered with its selection of restaurants serving up delicious cuisine from around the world. Whether you're in the mood for Japanese, Chinese, or French fare, you'll find something to tantalize your taste buds.

Overall, Raffles Makati is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Manila. It's the perfect blend of modern elegance and old-world charm, and you'll leave feeling pampered and rejuvenated.

Easy to find, very good customer service. The room is big and they still implement safety protocol.

Stayed last Sept 2022. This is more of a serviced apartment accommodation. The one bedroom suite has a working kitchen, laundry, separate dining and living spaces. It feels more like a luxury condominium than a typical hotel. This would be great for small dinner parties or when having a couple of guests over. Only downside is the TVs seem to be older models that cant take pen drives to watch movies on.

I love the Raffles brand and stay in Raffles all over the world so I wanted to leave a fair review. I couldn't do this until I had stayed at another hotel in Manila (Shangri-La Fort) to compare experiences as this is my first time in Philippines.

The people working at the Raffles were attempting to make the experience as best they could. They were brilliantly friendly and accommodating. Most complaints I have with this hotel relate to management not properly training their staff to a five star standard. I stay in dozens of five star hotels a year and recognize perfection and lack thereof, Raffles Makati was trying, but did not live up to five star experience. Details to follow.

-Rooms were large, well appointed, however as Amex Platinum we were not upgraded to any suite with a view. This is a point against them, although upgrade is not guaranteed, the hotel was quiet and they could have given us a corner room. The room was nice and totally satisfactory, however view was essentially non existent.

-There was a flub in receiving instructions on airport transport. The staff were extremely apologetic and took time and made efforts to correct this. They credited the bill and gave us a treat. This was much appreciated and was certainly a five star apology.

-Breakfast was terrible. Ok, generally I can accept sub par breakfast but this was astoundingly bad for a Raffles hotel. I ate breakfast there 3 mornings (on the 9th floor) and nothing improved over that time. The staff seemed to have no clue what they were doing, it was disorganized, every order had something wrong with it, we ordered sparkling water and they put it on ice in the corner and never filled our glasses up, forgot the coffee, had no supply of basic things such as olives or feta cheese. It was actually shocking what a mess that restaurant was. I don't blame the staff, I blame the management. Staff lacked training in basic hotel etiquette, they had to write down the simplest request and yet still somehow it was messed up or forgot entirely. The fruit was unripe, every single day. This is the tropics, whoever is managing the food supply needs to be taught about quality control. One afternoon at the Shangri-La and their food is perfect, fruit perfectly ripe. I just don't see how this could be done incorrectly. But they need to replace the 9th floor chef or the individual who selects the food. Bread was stale and probably not fresh daily. Overall the breakfast was a dismal experience. Eggs and the beef tapa were the only edible items on the menu.

-The cocktail hour and tea in the afternoon was nice and I found the service at the Writers Bar to be great, i tipped every time. If only the staff from the writers bar were running the breakfast on the 9th floor!

-Door staff, driver, concierge were amazing and did everything correctly. Always greeting us with a smile and went out of their way to be helpful. Thank you front desk staff and concierge staff, you guys are great!

-Another major point against the hotel. Plastic water bottles in the room? ! Come on, any decent hotel is trying to reduce single use plastic and provide water in glass bottles. This is terrible and lazy to give plastic bottles still. Shangri-La, glass bottles for all drinking water. This needs to be fixed, i don't want to support the destruction of the Philippines with single use plastic. I can only imagine most of that plastic waste ends up in a giant landfill, ocean or in the river. Sad to see this still.

At the end of the day, this hotel seems to be in growing pains. They have hired lots of staff and not properly trained them. Overall I think these issues can be fixed if they put in some basic efforts. But for now, Shangri-La is such a superior experience I can't justify going back to Raffles Makati. Sad because I love the old school Raffles vibe.

Hope this helps the hotel improve.
