SM Cinema Megamall reviews
49We watched The Eras Tour Film at Cinema 4. The seats we were assigned to (G26-G28) were broken. We switched to the vacant seats at the front, but those seats were also broken. Good thing, this was a concert-movie so we just stood up and enjoyed the film. But imagine watching a 3-hour film here while you seat at a broken chair.
Cockroaches everywhere, sound is terrible, screen is so far away from most the seats. Half the people taking selfies and using their flashlights distracting you from the movie. So many better cinemas in the Philippines. Avoid this one.
Aside from the issue about no outside food, the seats at the regular cinemas are the most uncomfortable of any modern cinema house in the bigger malls of metro manila.they should charge half the price if they dont repair/upgrade these seats.
If you want to watch some movie at a mediocre level cinema house SM regular cinema is a good option. Although what I don't like about a recent change is customers CANNOT bring OUTSIDE food or drinks inside! This is ridiculous because their Snack Time (official movie food outlet) doesn't have complete menu. What if we can to bring a CBTL drink because we feel sleepy want to focus watching? What if we want to bring ice cream? Also the counters are only 2 and not enough to accommodate all customers who have no option but to buy food from their Snack Time! They better revoke this policy!
To start, it's way too cold inside the theater! We sat in Cinema 5 and it was just way too cold to even enjoy the movie.
The theater seems rather old and the screen had some form of vertical spot/tearing on the left side of it. The seats are 'meh' and you can't raise the arm rests like you can in other theaters.
Ticket prices are decent. Although places like Bonifacio High Street Cinemas cost less per ticket for a much better movie watching experience, which is surprising.
Finally, as other reviewer (s) have mentioned, yes, there are cockroaches.
We had watch lots of movie here. Ang ingay at ang init. Then if ever rated g yung label nung movie nilalagyan nila ng mga promotion thriller na rated r. So makikita dn ng mga bata. Not recommended.
Never been a fan of Megamall cinemas. The sound system is bad and no matter where you sit, the screen feels like it's so far away. The only reason to watch in Megamall is that it has the only IMAX theater near my place.
Their ticket app is very unstable so couldn't book online. Huge lines at the theater to get a ticket same at the food line. In the theater, lots of people talking and using their cell phone.
Guaranteed seating became free for all seating on opening of Avengers End Game April 24. Then we were transferred to another cinema at a later time.
Place was dirty, movie goers were noisy and some even allowed their kids to run around, shout and play during the movie (and movie officer stopped them), floors in some areas were sticky probably to spilled drinks. Sound and picture quality was mediocre and seats were outdated and not that comfortable.
Not worth it.
No automatic ticket machines, have to queue and only couple of staff. Very dated process here needs improving. Can't use overseas credit cards for their website so overall buying experience is poor
Films and seat are fine though
It's unbelievable that one concession stand ran out of large bags & buckets of popcorn until I walked to the next on the other side of the cineplex only to be forced to take the latter container (which I was able to finish)! = PHEW! =
I was there to watch the K-drama/thriller, "Concrete Utopia, " which is fighting for nominations in next year's Oscars for Best Int'l Feature Film & as highly recommended by my cousin. The movie (carrying the echoes of "High Rise" with elements of biting satire a la "Triangle of Sadness") was only available for the week at that venue after I scrolled through the cinema listings. I love the thickened plot as the story goes on after the earthquake disaster.
We watched the midnight screening for Insidious. I missed the first 15 minutes because pahirapan bumili ng snacks. So many people and only a minuscule booth to serve them. I was in line for more than 1 hour just to buy food! Terrible experience. Get it together, SM
Crowded as expected, but not enough places to stay and hang out. Good selection of stores though.
It's good somehow. But one thing that drags me to rate it 3 stars is because you're not able buy your own food at the sm markets. The only food that you can Eat inside the Cinema is those food that you buy in the entrance. But its price is pretty high.
I always go here to watch movies. What I didn't like about it is their inconsistent employees. There are two cinemas there. I ask the same question for 2 different employees and they didn't say the same. The first one said there are two available movies for my free tickets and the other one said there is only one available movie.
It's not a big deal for me that I'll watch what I already watched but I think they should be consistent. I'm disappointed about it.
No outside food policy now in effect!
Seats are old and needs to be replaced, especially at the lower portion near the screen
Always a good experience, just let the public bring their own dang food. Your own food selection sucks.
The place is cool and picture is fine but i don't like the policy of no bringing of food outside the cinema tha's a no no.
Comfy seats buy not so posh considering that they were one of the first SM Cinemas opened. The popcorn and other food choices offered by SM Cinema Snack Time is also midrange, could definitely be better for the price.
