Sambo Kojin reviews
76Worst samgyup buffet I've ever been to. Halos walang laman, nakakadisappoint pag pasok palang. Hindi masarap and bland ang food including beef strips na parang hindi beef. I'm so disappointed.
Sambokojin has to be closed for a month, cleaned thoroughly, all corners inside cabinets, crs. It reeks of cockroach stench. Please bring lots of Lysol, chlorox, brushes, change all rotten wood partitions and replace with hard plastic parts, door jambs, doors, cabinets.
I have high expectations with Sambokojin because we've been eating there since 2013 (We've tried their various branches and they always have the same good quality).
However, we were so disappointed when we ate last week. The choices were SUPER few (they don't refill immediately or don't refill at all), the meats for grilling has changed quality, and worse, the service staff were snobs and the guy at the sashimi station screamed at me when I have no idea that I need to get a plate first (He could've said it politely).
Not worth the 988php per head, we feel scammed because it's supposed to be a "buffet collab" with Kamayan, Dad's, and Saisaki but it doesn't feel like a buffet at all.
NOT RECOMMENDED. CHOOSE ANOTHER RESTAURANT! They also turned off their review and comment sections in Facebook so that bad reviews won't be revealed. It really broke my heart because Sambokojin was really my favorite for years and I don't know why they shifted to bad quality food and poor service. Did they change management? Not sure though.
Sambo Kojin offered us a discount because we are a lot, like 13 persons. I paid PHP 888 reg price is 1k+. Compared to other buffet restos, Sambo has grill option in each table and I'm fond of grilling. The food is great, I've eaten Japanese and Korean foods, together with lechon, but there's no wine or any beer. I expected for a wine and hope they can offer it in the future. Beverage needs to be innovative and something they should focus moving forward.
Food options are limited, but still awesome. Staffs are very accomodating and helpful. I'd rather go on vikings or dads next time.
Staffs are very attentive to guest's needs very fast service but the place is somewhat crowded no social distancing and floor markers are not followed.
10/10, super daming tao dahil sguro sunday pero accommodating and mababait yung staff. May waiting time pero di ganun katagal sguro mga 5-10 minutes lang and malawak yung space nila dito unlike other their branches.
I went here with my friends. The staff were polite. The food was ok because it was an affordable buffet. They refill quickly but I wish there were more choices. The Kare kare was also cold. Aside from that it was easy dining here.
Our dining experience today was not as good as before. Some of the dishes were cold and the miso soup is also not that hot. Some of the grilled meat were really salty. The available ice cream flavors were limited. They should have provided dispenser for sodas instead of the bottled 1.5 liters. The caps were not tightly recapped that is why the taste becomes bland (and the soft drinks were not replenished right away). For the good part, most of the staff were nice attending to our needs and requests (like cleaning our table and taking our pictures haha.). The foods I enjoyed were nachos, salad & lechon kawali/ fried pork. My friend like the kinilaw na puso ng saging and Korean pancake
Bad experience! From fresh fruits shake to power juice, no more sliced beef, salmon sashimi need to wait 30min, I miss the sambokojin last year…
Came back here after a year. We ate here last Dec 2020 and the experience was good that's why we tried to come back this year.
Unlike last year, food choices are fewer and the quality of food is not that great anymore. Perhaps, it's because of the ever-changing COVID protocols. I understand. Hope it'll get better next time!
As of now, they have limited food to choose from but the price is still the same even before the pandemic. Might as well make it half the price or lower it because you will not get what you pay for.
First branch to experience a great buffet. But due to pandemic, the roast beef and pork belly are portioned to 4 small bite sizes.
Not sure why I didn’t enjoy this place as much as I should have. I struggled finding dishes or meats to grill. The queue could also get wuite long especially during the weekends. I think there are better unlimited buffets out there.
No explanation needed. Not worth the price, you'll get disappointed in every way.
Hoping that this will improve soon but right now, it's not a good to consider when you want a grill buffet.
I was not able to take photos but it was a far cry from the Sambo we knew and loved before - a mix of cooked and raw foods, with many viands and desserts to choose from. At the price of Php938, it is not worth it. Sambo became like any samgyupsal eat all you can store. So better to just go at a samgyupsal than here.
In this branch:
Yes, the staff were hygienic having to wear facemasks and faceshields but felt really unwelcomed by their body language, especially the eyes.
The aircondition was ridiculously low that the display food was already too cold? For example: when you bite into the sushi the texture of the rice was old like when you overcook rice in a pot it gets burnt on the sides hard. Yes, I do understand that the aircondition is centralized but the food was already plated and exposed so I wonder where the precaution for safety is in there?
Also, the lettuce was wilting and some parts of it were brown so I barely touched it.
Limited food choices. Some food were not on display that if you wouldn't see from your neighboring tables and ask for it, they also wouldn't bother telling you about it.
Powder room was unkempt.
And a rat was seen from one of the bars.
My first time here and overall experience was dull and felt like a waste of money. ️
Much less dishes to choose from since the pandemic is not over. I guess this part was understandable but what we couldn't understand was why it was unsanitary i.e. Tiny cockroaches were rampant in one of the stations and saw one chilling on the food.
Told the guys working there about it and they disposed of the food that we gave them. There were still some roaches on the station hiding under the crannies of the counter.
It was also less enjoyable since everything was already plated. I went also to the west ave branch they had much better service there I would say.
It doesn't feel the same like it was before Pandemic. Yes right "feel". Not that enough options and no more birthday song to the birthday celebrant.
Found a LIVING SLUG in my lettuce! It even moved it's eyes stalk and looked at me. Felt a shiver in my spine! I called a server and they just took the lettuce leaf that has the slug from me and didn't do anything with the remaining lettuce being served and currently consumed by other customers. As for me, i stopped eating the lettuce they are serving and moved on with the other foods available. JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS THIS, INGESTING A LIVING SNAIL OR SLUG CAN CAUSE MENINGITIS DUE TO PARASITIC NEMATODES THAT LIVES INSIDE THEM. RAW FOODS LIKE LETTUCES SHOULD BE CLEANED WITH CHLORINE OR SALT OR OTHER CLEANING AGENT TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OF slugs or snail. Parasitic infection is undetectable. So for diners of SAMBOKOJIN MEGAMALL for 1/16/2020 let's hope that it's an isolated case and no body ingested the raw slugs form their lettuces.
